Barbara has served on several Boards starting with The Environmental Commission in Hunterdon County, New Jersey from 1976-1982. While a member Barbara started a Historical House Tour, that is still in existence today, to raise funds for Franklin Township to be put on the National & State Registry of Historic Districts, which protects areas of historic interest from having environmentally unfriendly projects imposed on them. Barbara was a top producer in a three office Sotheby International Real Estate Affiliated Agency in Hunterdon County.

On moving to Florida, Barbara became co-founder & co-owner of the James Agency, a Sotheby International Real Estate Affiliate located on Sanibel & Captiva Island & Fort Myers, which became a three office agency.

Her other area of expertise was in new construction of houses, taking clients through buying property, introducing them to architects & builders. She was present at all meetings, knowing all details of the construction plans. Daily visits to the construction site for the absentee owners were made. Sending pictures & progress reports. Helping the owner to select their color schemes, fixtures, furnishings & appliances. Enabling them to choose their furnishings at design marts in Florida & Atlanta, Georgia. Many of her clients had second, third & fourth homes who were absent most of the year. Barbara saw the need to start & manage their properties in a way that was designed to fit the specific need of each homeowner. Barbara has always had the best interests of her clients at heart & will continue to take a great deal of pride in serving them. Barbara loves to kayak & hike spending fun times with her family & enjoying all that "wonderful Durango" has to offer.
